35-yr-old man drowns as Policeman shoots colleague in Bayelsa

A 35-year-old man, identified as Chinelu Obaisi, reportedly drowned, Monday, while a policeman was accidentally shot and injured by one of his colleagues during a raid on a notorious hang out point at Bebelebiri II community in the outskirts of Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital.
The deceased from one of the Eastern states was said to have drowned when he jumped into the community river in an attempt to evade arrest during the raid.
It was, however, learnt that the policeman, who was part of the team that conducted the raid, was shot in the leg by his colleague while shooting indiscriminately to scare suspected customers of the hang out known as “Cooler Spot.”
The injured policemen whose identity could not be ascertained was rushed to the Gloryland Hospital in Yenagoa for treatment.
