Almajiri votes were responsible for kicking GEJ

April 13 14:47 2015 👤by Mayowa Tijani  3 Comments Rabiu Kwankwaso, governor of Kano state, says Almajiri votes were responsible for kicking Goodluck Jonathan out of the presidential villa in Abuja. Kwankwaso decried the political play in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), saying it has divided Nigerians along religious and ethnic lines. “It is unfortunate, in the last couple of years, we have seen a polarisation situation, this issue of Christianity, Islam, north and south, and even the issue of tribalism being promoted,” he said. “It was not good for the system – it was not even good for my friend in the villa, so we are happy, we have seen the end of it now.” The governor, who was speaking in an on-air interview with Channels television, said the president did well for himself; his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC); and the nation at large by conceding election. He went on to advise that the Muhammadu Buhari-led administration must be willing to correct the ills and unite the nation to keep peace and stability. “We encourage Buhari to be what a president should be; to carry along all the Christians, the Muslims and other people of other faiths in this country. “Ensure peace and stability, take everybody as his own; even the PDP guys should be carried along by the president. The president is the father of all. “We hope that people around him should be people who are experienced, who should not be talking of Hausas who are thrown away as Almajiris. That is completely wrong, and it has gone a long way in galvanising people in the north to ensure that this Almajiri votes were used to kick them out of the villa.” The former minister of defence who has been elected to go to the next senate saw his state deliver 1.9 million votes for the APC at the presidential election.
